Kasabian @ Earls Court - 19/12/2006

Went to see Kasabian last night, supported by the Fratellis. Absolute nightmare to get there. Trains were full and escalators not working, queues backed up around the corner, just to get remotely close to the platform. For the people that have been to London, you know what I mean. Anyway, finally got to Earls Court and met my Pink comrade, Luke. Went inside, got some overpriced Hotdogs (£3.75 ea) and got ready for Fratellis. They weren't that bad, their two big hits 'Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the choir' went down well. Pretty decent 6/10. Kasabian blew the roof off, playing most of their hits, which to be fair isn't alot as they are a new band with 2 albums to their name, 'Club Foot, Cutt off and Empire' getting the loudest cheers. 'LSF' was always going to be the last song, it rocked the hardest. I tried to get out a bit early as I wanted to miss the crowds. Walking through the station and having thousands of people sing the last song to any gig, tells you that it was an awesome night. Thoroughly deserves it 8.5/10. Was no where near The Killers in terms of a whole experience. Its a different vibe. The Killers have got 20 catchy tunes. Kasabian have maybe 6. What Kasabian showed last night, is they are a real ROCK band and I think they will go on to be legendary.

Tuesday 19th December

3 significant things are happening today.

1. Arsenal travel to Liverpool to see who goes through to the next round of the league cup. Arsenal may be under strength, but Liverpool will be psychologically concerned that they lost to Arsenal 3-0 a few weeks ago. I will not be watching this game. I know what you all asking, 'what the?' I am going to see...
2. Kasabian at Earls Court. I have seen them before, they are being supported by The Fratellis, who played with them when I saw them last. The Fratellis have 2 notable songs, Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the choir. Should be a great gig. Kasabian are a band that are becoming more popular as time goes on, if you have a chance, listen to Empire, Club foot, Cutt off and, in my opinion, their best song LSF. The last thing thats happening...
3. Faye has her Christmas party. So I guess she will be home late, swaying from side to side, repeating that I am the best husband ever. Natually I am, no contest.

Have a good Tuesday

Arsenal vs Portsmouth - Ashburton Grove

Right what can I say.... Arsenal are useless at the moment. With 100 - 1 odds to win the Premiership, its a good chance to put down £20, if they win, you make £2000, if they don't, well unlucky. But they are useless at the moment so it may not be a good bet afterall. Anyway, my best mate Dale came with me to see The Arses and Portsmouth play a great game of football. Porstmouth went up 2-0 and I thought that this was going to be the first time I would see them lose. It ended 2-2. To be fair, Portsmouth were coming 4th going into this game, so I guess it was a good result. But Arsenal are battling at the moment, so I guess it was a great result. Actually, The Arses are missing a few key players, namely Henry, Rosicky and Gallas, so I guess it was a superb result. Yes thats what it was, a superb, brilliant result against a mean defence, and a great attack. I do blame Dale for the result, he went to see Everton play Portsmouth the week before, Everton lost 2-0. I am sure that if he didn't go, Everton would have won. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway (this is where I intend to be soppy) I would rather spend some quality time with my mate than see Arsenal win at home. Who am I kidding?

Anyway, heres to a great Christmas period. Up the Arses.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

To all my family and friends, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you are travelling, travel safe. If you are driving, drive safe. If you are at home, enjoy, relax and watch a movie. May 2007 bring you health, wealth and happiness.

For Faye and me we have done alot this year:

We have seen great concerts, Guns n Roses, The Killers, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Live, Pearl Jam and Radiohead, amongst others.

We have been to the theatre, Whistle down the wind and We will rock you. Both great nights out.

We have seen a few Arsenal games at the new stadium. An absolute marvel piece.

Faye started her new job, which is going very well. I am still with the same job and going well.

We have been overseas a few times this year, Paris with Pete, Tenerife with Faye's family, Edinburgh (technically its not overseas) and I have been to South Africa.

All in all, I would think, its been a great year for us.

Crack open your champagne and heres to 2007

Chuck Norris jokes

Chuck knows Victoria’s secret

God offered Chuck Norris the gift to fly, which he swiftly declined for super strength roundhouse ability.

The U.S Military has stopped dropping bombs in Iraq, and started dropping Chuck Norris, because he's cheaper and he does more damage.

Chuck Norris counted to infinity. Twice.

Chuck Norris does not use spell check. If he happens to misspell a word, Oxford will simply change the actual spelling of it.

Chuck Norris owns the greatest poker face of all-time. It helped him win the 1983 world series of poker despite him holding just a joker, a 2 of clubs, a 7 of spades, and a green number 4 from Uno and a monopoly 'get out of jail free' card.

What is THE LIST?

THE LIST is where all the bands that have big names and big profiles disappoint us.

The list so far include

U2 - Bono is an activist and I say be a musician or a politician. You can't be both
Placebo - They really didn't live up to 'The best live act'
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Saw them at Earls Court this year and they were crap, didn't even say goodbye
Eminem - Because he cancelled
Hoobastank - Because they cancelled

I shall keep this list up to date for the masses

Placebo @ Wembley Arena - 9/12/2006

Went to see Placebo on Saturday, I was suffering from a severe hangover from my company's Christmas party the night before. Totally different colours to Pink, ahh everything was back to normal. We weren't impressed with them at all, Faye and I saw them at Reading this year and thought they were brilliant, here, they were like any normal band, useless. They played Infrared, Follow the cops back home, Drag, Because I want you, Meds, Every you and every me, Special K and more. I was waiting for Pure morning, which never happened. Luke wanted Post blue and Nancy boy, also never happened. A disappointing night. They are on THE LIST.

Pink @ Wembley Arena - 4/12/2006

I have just started this blog, so things are not going to be in order for the next couple of weeks.

My brother in-law, Luke and I went to see Pink. We bought the tickets a few months ago and because we had been to The Killers the week before and because I saw Evanescence the week before that, we were not really in the mood. We got off at Wembley station and found our way down the stairs. As always there were touts selling tickets at rediculous prices and as a joke we told one tout that we wanted to sell. Which was not a total lie, we were thinking about it. He offered us£10 each, I said £30. He then offered us £20, I said £30. He then offered us £30 each and Luke kept saying that he wanted to go. Loser! The tout then asked what kind of man was I that I didn't want to sell the tickets. (harsh but fair) We had to laugh. We started walking and the tout screamed £80 for the both, we contemplated selling them, but we decided that we might as well go as we travelled all the way, andd Luke really wanted to go. Gotta keep the pink fans happy. So we went.

Everything was pink, the outside of the venue, the water, lights, everything was pink. Luke was loving it. We got inside, bought some drinks, went into the hall and an anouncer came in saying that this was officially the largest indoor gay event in history. (and we were part of it)

We felt uncomfortable at first, Faye was, I would assume, in hysterics at home. There are no such things as PlayMate lesbians, for the record. They are not all hot. Some of them were bigger than Luke, which is not hard. The guys look normal, but the woman look like guys. Who knows..

Anyway Pink finally came on. Played all her well known songs, Just like a pill, Who knew, Dear Mr President, U and Ur hand, Stupid girls, family portrait, Don't let me get me, 18 wheeler and Lady Marmelade. Luke will know the rest.

Anyway, shes a great performer and overall a great concert

The Killers @ Brixton - 27/11/2006

Probably the second best concert I have ever been to, behind Guns n' Roses at Hammersmith. The Killers did not fail to live up to the hype that surrounds them at the moment. They started with Sam's Town, we were in the front, I had Faye in front of me and a bar in front of her. I was holding the bar with locked arms with Faye between them, hold back 3 tons of moshing mad idiots. After a while the crowd behind me slowed down and then it became bearable. They played Entertude, When you were young, My list, Bling, Read my mind, Bones and Exitude from Sam's Town. They might have played other songs, but I can't remember. Then from Hot Fuss, they played Somebody told me, Glamourous Indie Rock n Roll, Mr Brightside, Jenny was a friend of mine, Andy you're a star, Midnight show and All these things that I have done. An absolutely awesome concert that we are still talking about. We are seeing them again in February. So until then, we can only wait
