I have been a useless Blogger I must be honest. Lets see what has happened in the last 2 months. Well we went away to Bahamas and the States. Great holiday, went to 6 Hard Rock Cafes, 3 Hard Rock Hotels, 2 Hard Rock Casinos and 2 Hard Rock Live's. I seem to like the drinks, so I keep going back and back and back....

We went to New York, WOW, awesome city, BIG, very big. We only had 2 days, so we didn't rush to see everything. We went on a ferry around the Statue of Liberty, up the Rockerfeller and Empire State Building. Were given tickets to The Conan O'Brien Show. Antonia Banderas and the chick from Scrubs were guests. Didn't go, it had been a long day already. We also did 2 buss tours, 1 uptown and 1 downtown. Then of course we went to Times Square, Hard Rock, Hershey Shop, M&Ms Shop, Virgin (Huge), Swatch, Planet Hollywood and Billabong (Alot of shopping shopping shopping)

Delayed coming back, but a great holiday

Next stop: West Coast

Been to a few concerts, saw Travis Tritt and Heart in the States. Last week we went to OMD. No more conerts for a month. Next one: Aerosmith, 14 June, in Munich.

We are also moving from Chateau Luralda, not quite sure where just yet, will keep you informed...maybe.

My Chemical Romance - Koko, Camden - 2/4/07

Hello again. Well I went to My Chemical Romance (MCR) with Luke on Monday night. Oh my greatness. What a performance. Not as good as Friday night as it was a smaller venue. They are superb. They are definitely my best current band at the moment. Here is the link to the BBC page,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/events/mychemicalromance.shtml

You may need to install Real Player. There are videos of some of the songs, a broadcast of their whole set, a documentary and photos.

Have a great Easter weekend, back to work on Tuesday. Happy days....

My Chemical Romance - Wembley Arena - 30/3/2007

Oh my greatness, what a concert. They were absolutely unbelievable. They played all the songs from their latest album in order. If they stopped there, it would have been the best concert I would have ever been to. But because they carried on playing their older stuff, they unfortunately didn't take over Guns n Roses. But they did overtake Robbie Williams, Travis and The Killers.

Every single song on their new album 'The Black Parade' is great. There are some songs that should make your top 20. Namely 'Welcome to the Black Parade', 'Disenchanted', 'I don't love you' and 'Famous last words'.

A definite 10/10. I was also lucky enough to win tickets to the small intimate gig in Camden tonight. The venue can only hold 1500 and its for BBC 1. Going to be broadcast on the net, radio and tv. So I will publish the link.

Anyway, otherwise all is well. Arsenal are crap.

Take care

This is the latest

Arsenal are useless. Lost the first leg of the Champions league last 16 to PSV. Lost to Chelsea in the final of the League Cup. Lost to Blackburn in the FA Cup 5th Round. If they lose to Reading on Saturday, they will become the first English side to lose 4 games in a row in 4 different competitions. That has to suck!!

If things don't start getting better, I am going to start watching either, its a toss up, any other ideas are welcome, table tennis, darts, chess, tic-tac-toe or windsurfing.

We got tickets to Aerosmith in Hyde Park. Funny enough, its a Hard Rock event. We decided to go the whole nine yards, so we got VIP tickets. You just have to, at least once in your life.

Well thats the news, just wanted to rant and rave about Arsenal and how crap they are.

Time catches up on you, you seem to think you have enough time to go to work, eat dinner, sleep, play games, go to concerts, go to football games. Well you don't, hence the reason I have not updated this blog. Well, I am here now. Heres the update.

I have been to 3 Arsenal games since my last entry:
Saw Arsenal hammer Man Utd 2-1
Saw Arsenal hammer Spurs 3-1 in the league cup.
Saw Arsenal hammer Wigan 2-1

So far this season, I have been to 8 games. As yet I have never seen them lose live. Lets hope that luck continues. The next game is against Reading.

Also went to see Fall Out Boy with Luke at Hammersmith Palais. Awesome venue, very similar to a nightclub. They were good, listen to 'Sugar, we're going down'

Concerts coming up:

Killers at Wembley Arena
Muse at the new Wembley (First band to play at the new stadium)
Aerosmith in Germany (This is the big one for me)

We are also going on our big holiday this year. We fly to Miami and then straight on to Bahamas. Back to Miami and drive to Key West, back to Miami. On to Orlando and Tampa Bay and then fly to New York. We are looking to go to 5 Hard Rock cafes:

New York
Nassau
Miami
Key West
Orlando

We are also planning on staying in 3 Hard Rock Hotels:

Hollywood, fl
Orlando
Tampa Bay

That is my little fetish that I have, I have to go to all the Hard Rocks, there are 140 or so of them. The brightside is Faye will see the world because of this fetish.

The Hard Rocks I have been to so far:

Cape Town
Orlando
Dubai
Amsterdam
Paris
Edinburgh
London

We will do Munich in June when we go see Aersomith and might do Leeds this weekend when we go visit Grandma.

We missed out on Grand Canaria twice when we went to Tenerife, so that will have be some other time.

Anyway

I'm tired of typing

Arsenal vs Charlton - Ashburton Grove

On the 2nd of January, Faye and I braved the cold to go see Arsenal beat Charlton 4-0. Dispite the result, Arsenal were shocking. They try and play the perfect game everytime. This is a bit frustrating for the fans, because we (the fans) want to also see brilliant goals. Arsenal seem to always want to walk the goal in. In truth, Arsenal could have won 12-0, maybe more. We seem to hate Alan Pardew (Charlton Manager). Alot of us singing 'Alan Pardew is a w**ker, is a w**ker'. I thought is was fitting because of what he did to Mr Wenger when he managed West Ham. Faye wasn't feeling well that night and seemed to hate it. Or maybe that the Shocking Arsenal don't excite her anymore. Anyway, my next game is the very big one, Manchester United (I hate them). Will be nice to win. (Can only hope)

Happy New Year

Hope 2007 brings joy, happiness blah blah. Hopefully the start of the year doesn't dictate the rest of the year, a serious hangover and MacDonalds. Hope you all had a good one. Only 363 days to the New Year!

Kasabian @ Earls Court - 19/12/2006

Went to see Kasabian last night, supported by the Fratellis. Absolute nightmare to get there. Trains were full and escalators not working, queues backed up around the corner, just to get remotely close to the platform. For the people that have been to London, you know what I mean. Anyway, finally got to Earls Court and met my Pink comrade, Luke. Went inside, got some overpriced Hotdogs (£3.75 ea) and got ready for Fratellis. They weren't that bad, their two big hits 'Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the choir' went down well. Pretty decent 6/10. Kasabian blew the roof off, playing most of their hits, which to be fair isn't alot as they are a new band with 2 albums to their name, 'Club Foot, Cutt off and Empire' getting the loudest cheers. 'LSF' was always going to be the last song, it rocked the hardest. I tried to get out a bit early as I wanted to miss the crowds. Walking through the station and having thousands of people sing the last song to any gig, tells you that it was an awesome night. Thoroughly deserves it 8.5/10. Was no where near The Killers in terms of a whole experience. Its a different vibe. The Killers have got 20 catchy tunes. Kasabian have maybe 6. What Kasabian showed last night, is they are a real ROCK band and I think they will go on to be legendary.

Tuesday 19th December

3 significant things are happening today.

1. Arsenal travel to Liverpool to see who goes through to the next round of the league cup. Arsenal may be under strength, but Liverpool will be psychologically concerned that they lost to Arsenal 3-0 a few weeks ago. I will not be watching this game. I know what you all asking, 'what the?' I am going to see...
2. Kasabian at Earls Court. I have seen them before, they are being supported by The Fratellis, who played with them when I saw them last. The Fratellis have 2 notable songs, Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the choir. Should be a great gig. Kasabian are a band that are becoming more popular as time goes on, if you have a chance, listen to Empire, Club foot, Cutt off and, in my opinion, their best song LSF. The last thing thats happening...
3. Faye has her Christmas party. So I guess she will be home late, swaying from side to side, repeating that I am the best husband ever. Natually I am, no contest.

Have a good Tuesday

Arsenal vs Portsmouth - Ashburton Grove

Right what can I say.... Arsenal are useless at the moment. With 100 - 1 odds to win the Premiership, its a good chance to put down £20, if they win, you make £2000, if they don't, well unlucky. But they are useless at the moment so it may not be a good bet afterall. Anyway, my best mate Dale came with me to see The Arses and Portsmouth play a great game of football. Porstmouth went up 2-0 and I thought that this was going to be the first time I would see them lose. It ended 2-2. To be fair, Portsmouth were coming 4th going into this game, so I guess it was a good result. But Arsenal are battling at the moment, so I guess it was a great result. Actually, The Arses are missing a few key players, namely Henry, Rosicky and Gallas, so I guess it was a superb result. Yes thats what it was, a superb, brilliant result against a mean defence, and a great attack. I do blame Dale for the result, he went to see Everton play Portsmouth the week before, Everton lost 2-0. I am sure that if he didn't go, Everton would have won. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway (this is where I intend to be soppy) I would rather spend some quality time with my mate than see Arsenal win at home. Who am I kidding?

Anyway, heres to a great Christmas period. Up the Arses.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

To all my family and friends, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you are travelling, travel safe. If you are driving, drive safe. If you are at home, enjoy, relax and watch a movie. May 2007 bring you health, wealth and happiness.

For Faye and me we have done alot this year:

We have seen great concerts, Guns n Roses, The Killers, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Live, Pearl Jam and Radiohead, amongst others.

We have been to the theatre, Whistle down the wind and We will rock you. Both great nights out.

We have seen a few Arsenal games at the new stadium. An absolute marvel piece.

Faye started her new job, which is going very well. I am still with the same job and going well.

We have been overseas a few times this year, Paris with Pete, Tenerife with Faye's family, Edinburgh (technically its not overseas) and I have been to South Africa.

All in all, I would think, its been a great year for us.

Crack open your champagne and heres to 2007

Chuck Norris jokes

The U.S Military has stopped dropping bombs in Iraq, and started dropping Chuck Norris, because he's cheaper and he does more damage.

Chuck Norris counted to infinity. Twice.

Chuck Norris does not use spell check. If he happens to misspell a word, Oxford will simply change the actual spelling of it.

Chuck Norris owns the greatest poker face of all-time. It helped him win the 1983 world series of poker despite him holding just a joker, a 2 of clubs, a 7 of spades, and a green number 4 from Uno and a monopoly 'get out of jail free' card.

What is THE LIST?

THE LIST is where all the bands that have big names and big profiles disappoint us.

The list so far include

U2 - Bono is an activist and I say be a musician or a politician. You can't be both
Placebo - They really didn't live up to 'The best live act'
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Saw them at Earls Court this year and they were crap, didn't even say goodbye
Eminem - Because he cancelled
Hoobastank - Because they cancelled

I shall keep this list up to date for the masses

Placebo @ Wembley Arena - 9/12/2006

Went to see Placebo on Saturday, I was suffering from a severe hangover from my company's Christmas party the night before. Totally different colours to Pink, ahh everything was back to normal. We weren't impressed with them at all, Faye and I saw them at Reading this year and thought they were brilliant, here, they were like any normal band, useless. They played Infrared, Follow the cops back home, Drag, Because I want you, Meds, Every you and every me, Special K and more. I was waiting for Pure morning, which never happened. Luke wanted Post blue and Nancy boy, also never happened. A disappointing night. They are on THE LIST.

Attendants: Me, Faye, Luke
